CFA MEMBER WELCOME CENTER
Bringing Together the Resources That Make Capital Work
Welcome to the Commercial Finance Association (“CFA”), the premier community for all organizations and professionals who deliver and enable commercial finance. We’re happy that you joined. As an employee of a member company, you now have access to a variety of benefits including education and event discounts, and a free subscription to The Secured Lender, the most trusted news source for the ABL, factoring, and supply chain industries worldwide, and more.
As with any worthwhile pursuit, you get out of it what you put in. The following pages provide information on ways to become involved in our vibrant community and get the most out of your membership.
Founded in 1944, the CFA has nearly 250 member companies and an active network comprised of over 15,000 professionals. There are several special interest groups to explore and connect with like-minded individuals. Whether you are a young professional (YoPro) seeking mentoring or a woman in commercial finance (WICF) interested in meeting other professionals who share your priorities, our groups are a great place to start.
If shaping the future of our industry is more your speed, check out one of our 11 Committees. We are always looking for volunteers.
Additionally, the CFA has 22 local Chapters across the US, Canada and Europe that provide a host of programs and networking opportunities right in your own back yard. Chapter membership is separate from national membership and may apply on an individual versus a company basis. Additional details on CFA Chapters can be found here.
CFA.com is your best resource for the most up-to-date information about our Association, our mission, and all of the latest happenings within our community. Our Member Directory lets you easily search our database of member companies for financing opportunities by loan size, type of finance, or industry, making it simple to get deals done. Likewise, our Service Provider Directory helps you find the resources your business needs to be successful.

Attending a CFA event is a great way to connect with colleagues, exchange ideas and stay up-to-date on the latest issues and challenges facing our industry. The CFA Annual Convention, held every November, brings together 1,000+ attendees along with thought leaders such as Jeb Bush (American businessman and politician) and Ben Bernanke (former Chairman of the Federal Reserve) and fantastic entertainment from the likes of Lyle Lovett and Buddy Guy. It has been the premier networking event for the commercial finance industry for over 70 years.
Conferences such as the Asset-Based Capital Conference, our yearly 40 Under 40 Awards, WICF Conference and the International Lending Conference offer insights from world-class speakers such as Sallie Krawcheck, Venus Williams, and Sheila Bair among others.
CFA events attract a diverse group of ABL & Factoring professionals:

CFA INDUSTRY DATA
The CFA provides indicators of industry activity in two ways. CFA’s Annual Asset-Based Lending & Factoring Survey has measured year-to-year asset-based lending and factoring activity since 1976 while trends in asset-based lending are demonstrated in CFA’s Quarterly ABL Index. The Quarterly ABL Index provides new business and portfolio performance indicators for both large and entrepreneurial CFA members on quarter-by-quarter basis. To participate contact Aydan Savaser, CFA Data at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We also maintain a comprehensive list of ABL and Factoring deals. Check out our fully sortable deal table here, including detailed transaction summaries.
Our organization proudly represents its members on critical public policy and legal issues that have an impact on the commercial finance industry. Visit our website to learn more about our latest advocacy efforts.

CFA education programs and valuable industry insights are made possible by financial support from the CFA Education Foundation. The Foundation, a separate entity from the Commercial Finance Association, is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to cultivating education, innovation, and charitable works for the betterment of the Commercial Finance community.
Additional information, resources and publications are available on the Education Foundation website. Keep an eye out for a new Market Sizing and Impact Study coming in the fall of 2018.
The foundation relies on donations from both corporations and individuals to address the ongoing needs of our community. Please consider supporting the development of education programs, benchmarking data, and industry awareness. To make a tax-deductible contribution, contact Charlie Johnson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We want our association to address the needs of our members. As such, the CFA reaches out regularly with our Annual Member Survey to learn about how we’re doing. We hope you will participate in our next one. Of course, you don’t need to wait until our next survey to provide input. Feedback from our members is always welcome!
