The past several years have seen an explosion of private debt fund formation. According to Loan Pricing Corporation, fund raising for middle market focused private debt funds has been averaging over $15 billion per quarter since the beginning of 2016. The supply/demand imbalance created by this fundraising is impacting both pricing terms for middle market lenders. This panel, moderated by industry leading BDC equity analyst Jonathan Bock, will discuss the growth of the private debt market, and how the various business models are competing for capital and loan opportunities. They will also explore how the private debt market interacts with the asset based market, both as a partner and a competitor.
