CFA ADVOCACY: OUR ECONOMIC IMPACT
Educating the Public On Our Industries' Positive Impact in Creating and Sustaining Millions of Jobs

CFA's Advocacy Initiatives
As the premier trade association of the asset-based lending and factoring industries, one of CFA’s core functions is to represent its members on critical public policy and legal issues that could have an impact on the commercial finance industry. CFA’s advocacy program is directed by its Advocacy Committee.

The CFA Advocacy Committee determines the Association’s position and strategy on legislative and regulatory issues that could affect the asset-based lending and factoring industries. The Committee also works with CFA’s Co-General Counsel to identify and approve actions the Association takes on legal issues affecting the industry, including amicus curiae briefs.

Educating Regulators

The Commercial Finance Association plays a leadership role in advocating the interests of secured lenders in legal and judicial issues. Led by CFA’s Co-General Counsel and Advocacy Committee, the Association maintains an active amicus brief program and represents the industry in the development of bankruptcy rules of procedure and other judicial initiatives. We communicate with regulators about the value of collateral. We’re also working to see that the leveraged lending guidelines are applied consistently so that we can confidently continue to invest in the economy.
